Professional stoops & porches for Cove Neck homeowners. Ultra-exclusive peninsula, Sagamore Hill, waterfront estates
Cove Neck is a tiny, deeply historic Gold Coast village on the Oyster Bay peninsula, where estates have stood for over a century on land once walked by Theodore Roosevelt. Brothers Paving & Masonry builds and restores masonry stoops, front porches, stone steps, and entry features for Cove Neck homeowners whose properties carry the weight of history and the exposure of waterfront living. Our work here honors the architectural heritage of this extraordinary place while delivering modern structural permanence.
Our Cove Neck projects use premium natural stone and marine-grade materials appropriate for both the historic character and coastal exposure of the village — Pennsylvania bluestone, Connecticut fieldstone, Vermont granite, and hand-selected brick, all set with marine-grade mortar and anchored with stainless steel hardware. We restore historic entry features with period-accurate techniques and build new structures with the same quality of materials and craftsmanship.
The rolling, wooded terrain of Cove Neck frequently requires multi-level entry designs with retaining walls and terraced approaches. Brothers Paving engineers these structures for both beauty and durability, integrating drainage and lighting into every composition.
Cove Neck is one of the smallest and most exclusive villages on Long Island, occupying a narrow peninsula between Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor. The village is home to Sagamore Hill, Theodore Roosevelt's estate, and the surrounding residential properties share that same character of historic grandeur and coastal exposure. Virtually every property in Cove Neck faces some degree of salt air exposure, requiring marine-grade masonry materials and techniques.
The terrain is hilly and heavily wooded, with significant elevation changes from the waterfront to the ridgeline. Front entries on many Cove Neck properties involve substantial grade management — terraced stairs, retaining walls, and multi-level landings that negotiate the slope between driveway and front door. Brothers Paving designs these terraced approaches with proper proportions and integrated drainage.
The housing stock includes historic estates dating to the late 1800s and early 1900s as well as a small number of more recently built homes. Historic properties often have original stone or brick entry features that require sensitive construction. Brothers Paving has the skills and material sourcing capabilities to execute this work while preserving the architectural heritage of the village.
Cove Neck falls under the Town of Oyster Bay for building permits. Brothers Paving manages all permitting for Cove Neck projects.

Learn MoreCove Neck's peninsula position between Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor exposes every property to salt air from multiple directions. Combined with the hilly, wooded terrain, this creates a challenging environment for masonry: salt attacks the mortar and stone while slope-generated runoff threatens the foundation. We address both factors on every project — marine-grade mortar and sealers for salt resistance, and engineered drainage for water management. The soils range from sandy outwash on the ridges to silt and clay near the water. All footings are poured to 36-inch minimum depth with rebar reinforcement.
