Brothers Paving designs and installs custom paver patios for Long Island homeowners across Nassau and Suffolk County. We work with interlocking pavers, natural stone, travertine, and bluestone to create outdoor living spaces built for our local climate with proper drainage, compacted aggregate bases, and precision-set pavers that handle freeze-thaw cycles season after season. From raised patios and extensions to poolside hardscaping, seating walls, and fire features, our patio services cover every aspect of your backyard transformation. Explore our full range of patio services below.
A paver patio is only as good as the base under it. On most of the failed patios we get called out to fix, the pavers themselves are fine. The base was too thin or never compacted, so the surface sinks and heaves after a couple of winters. We build every patio from the subgrade up so it stays flat and drains the way it should.
Every job follows the same standard, scaled to the site. We set the grade for drainage first, build the base in compacted lifts, then lock the whole field in place so it cannot spread.
Any crew can make a patio look sharp on the day it is finished. The difference shows up in year three. A compacted crushed-concrete base and a concrete-set border are what hold the surface flat when the ground freezes and thaws all winter. Skip the compaction or the edge restraint and the pavers spread, the joints open, and the field starts to dip, no matter how good the stone is.
Because the pavers sit on a bound base instead of a poured slab, water moves through the joints and off the graded surface rather than pooling against your foundation. And if a single paver ever gets stained or cracked, we lift and swap that one unit instead of tearing out the patio. For a full cost breakdown by material tier, see our paver patio cost guide.
The right material comes down to how you use the space, the look you want, and budget. We install all of the following and help you choose during the on-site walkthrough:
Projects run from a straightforward patio off the back door to a full backyard layout with an outdoor kitchen, built-in seating, and a fire feature. Common builds include raised patios on graded lots, pool patios and surrounds, extensions to an existing patio, seating walls, and fire pits or fireplaces. Explore the specific services below, or send us photos and rough dimensions and we will tell you what the space can handle.
