Paver Walkways

A paver walkway is one of the most versatile ways to connect your Long Island home's driveway, patio, garden, and front entry into a cohesive outdoor space. Interlocking concrete pavers sit over a compacted aggregate base and bedding sand layer, allowing each unit to flex independently with ground movement rather than cracking like a rigid slab. That flexibility means lower long-term maintenance and a surface that looks great for decades.

Our process begins with an on-site consultation to evaluate grading, soil type, and drainage patterns. We excavate eight to twelve inches deep depending on conditions, install geotextile fabric to prevent base migration, and compact processed gravel in multiple lifts before screeding a one-inch bedding layer of coarse concrete sand. We work with Cambridge Pavingstones, Nicolock, Belgard, and other leading manufacturers, giving you access to a wide range of colors, textures, and shapes. After the pavers are placed and cut, we compact the surface and sweep polymeric sand into the joints, which hardens to lock units in place, inhibit weeds, and resist ant tunneling.

Pavers handle Long Island's salt air, nor'easters, and heavy foot traffic with minimal upkeep. We recommend cleaning once or twice a year and reapplying a breathable sealer every three to five years. If a paver chips or stains, it can be individually replaced without disturbing the rest of the walkway.
